The Reluctant Technologist is Matt Lingard’s personal website & occasional blog.

I’m the Digital Learning Director at London College of Communication, part of University of the Arts, London.

I’ve worked in learning technology roles since 2001 at University of West London,  City University London (twice),  LSE , London Metropolitan University & London Business School.

Before joining the world of HE & learning technology, I was a TEFL teacher for 5 years, a ski bum, systems analyst and bank clerk.

I’m a member and former Trustee of the Association for Learning Technology (ALT) and I was fortunate to be a Co-Chair of the Annual ALT Conference 2021.

I’m a founder and co-facilitator of Anti-racism & Learning Technology, a community of practice of learning technology folk working (mainly) in UK Higher Ed.

I was previously a member of the Steering Group for the Heads of e-Learning Forum (HeLF) and a Facilitator of the M25 Learning Technology Group.
